If your glass shower doors look cloudy, dull, or permanently “etched,” chances are it’s not ruined, it’s mineral buildup from hard water. One of my go-to products for restoring glass? Bar Keepers Friend 👏 Why shower doors turn cloudy: • Hard water minerals (calcium + lime) • Soap scum buildup • Body oils • Inconsistent maintenance cleaning Over time, that buildup bonds to the glass and regular spray cleaners just won’t touch it. Why Bar Keepers Friend works: It contains oxalic acid, which helps break down mineral deposits safely when used correctly. It’s gentle enough for glass but strong enough to cut through stubborn buildup. How I use it professionally: 1. Mix the powder with a small amount of water into a paste 2. Lightly wet the glass 3. Use 0000 steel wool 4. Work in small sections 5. Rinse thoroughly 6. Dry immediately with a microfiber towel to prevent spotting ⚠️ Always spot test first. ⚠️ Don’t let it sit too long. ⚠️ Avoid abrasive scrubbers. The difference can be dramatic - cloudy, hazy glass can look almost brand new again with the right technique. This is also why I recommend starting with a deep clean. Maintenance cleans can’t fix years of buildup in one quick visit. Cloudy glass isn’t “just old.” It’s usually neglected mineral buildup. And yes, it can be restored ✨
